Team Gullit, a FIFA esports academy based in the Netherlands, has announced a partnership with HP’s gaming brand, OMEN. The partnership will see the brand become Team Gullit’s exclusive PC partner, with the academy using OMEN PCs at its new headquarters.?

?The headquarters will allow players to compete at the facility while also creating content for their own social media channels and that of the academy. Since its inception in 2018, the academy has gained 150,000 followers across its various social media channels.? ?

The franchise took to its official Twitter page to announce the partnership as its looks forward to creating better video content with the brand:

?”#WELCOMEOMEN?We are happy to announce that we have partnered with @OMENbyHP, HPs premium gaming brand. Together, we will focus on creating even better video content!? ?Our new HQ features their best PCs and allows us and our talents to take our game to the next level!”

?Team Gullit will continue to maintain its position as one of the world’s largest FIFA academies in 2022. It signed a deal with MLS football club Atlanta United earlier this month to work closely with and develop the club’s squad of FIFA esports players.? ?

The deal sees OMEN strengthen its position in the esports industry. Over the past five years, the brand has consistently extended its partnership with BIG and gone on to expand its agreement with Belong Gaming Arenas.

OMEN joins Team Gullit as the seventh partner member, joining the rich list that includes high-profile brands such as Samsung Electronics, SEIKO Vision, and Robey Sportswear.??

Founder of Team Gullit, Corn Dubelaar described the OMEN deal as a perfectly timed partnership. He also spoke a little about the franchise headquarters, which are scheduled to be unveiled in the near future.

??”For us, the timing of the collaboration is ideal. We will be officially opening our new Team Gullit HQ soon; a unique place that meets all needs of the players and us,” Dubelaar said.?

?”OMEN desktops not only make the room look incredible, they also provide us with the power we need to take our content game to the next level from the launch of FIFA 23.”

An esports partnership deal has been inked between the Major League Soccer (MLS) football team Atlanta United and the FIFA esports academy and organization Team Gullit.

The players of Atlanta United’s FIFA team will get coaching and development support from Team Gullit. In spite of the fact that the alliance was not made public until only recently, Atlanta has been working closely with the Dutch competitive FIFA organization, Team Gullit, over the past two years.

Atlanta United Vice President of Business Operations, Georgia ODonoghue, spoke about the partnership between the organization and Team Gullit.

“As one of the most successful teams in the FIFA Global Series, Team Gullit will continue to provide our players with some of the most comprehensive coaching in the esports industry.”

Within the realm of FIFA esports, Team Gullit is an interesting franchise, with its founder being Ruud Gullit, a former winner of the Ballon d’Or. The organization’s core is hinged more on identifying and cultivating future talents than it is on winning tournaments.

The objective of the academy is to provide excellent FIFA players the opportunity to break through into the broader international stages without having to be signed by a major professional outfit, be it an esports organization or a regular football club.

On the other hand, Atlanta United made its initial foray into the world of FIFA esports in 2017, and the club has been active in the industry ever since.

Brazilian nationals, Paulo Neto and Vini Leiva are currently listed as players on the franchise roster. Shortly after putting together the team, Atlanta reached out to Team Gullit for help with player development. The two organizations are now officially working together.

The support provided by Team Gullit was extremely beneficial for Atlanta United, which allowed the team to win the eMLS Cup and earn a place in the FIFAe World Cup early in 2022. According to Renzo Oemrawsingh, Head of Development for Team Gullit, the team is excited to take the current degree of cooperation to the next level. According to Oemrawsingh, the initial step in the agreement would involve Team Gullit providing coaching to an Atlanta United player named Paulo Neto as he competes in the next FIFAe World Cup.

Paulo Neto, who was signed to Atlanta United in 2018, won his first eMLS championship on March 14, 2022, in front of a packed crowd at Austin City Limits. He did so by defeating Mohamed “KingCJ0” Diop of D.C. United by a 5-3 record in the final matchup.

On his route to winning the most prestigious soccer competition in North America, Paulo was forced to compete against the best players in the eMLS. In his pursuit of the trophy that he had failed to win in previous years, Paulo did not waste any time. He was finally able to claim the title of eMLS Cup Champion.

Atlantic United is not the only organization that has formed an alliance with Team Gullit. Recently, the academy was successful in securing a partnership with Ninjas in Pyjamas, a well-known esports brand based in Sweden. As a result of this agreement, a new esports team TG.NIP was formed.

Additionally, the franchise has partnerships with Samsung, the energy drink brand Red Bull, and the watch manufacturer Seiko.

If Chelsea and other top-flight clubs follow the advice of Dutch football legend Ruud Gullit, the English Premier League will soon be awash with esports teams.

West Ham United and Manchester City already have esports projects, and 55-year-old Gullit thinks it is time more EPL clubs followed suit.

The former AC Milan star and Chelsea player-manager is the proud owner of Team Gullit, the first independent FIFA esports academy.

Team Gullit features three esports professionals and a guest spot for Max Verstappen, the Dutch Formula One driver.

With over 3,200 prospective applicants applying to play for the team, Gullit says more players may be added as time goes on.

Speaking at a Betting on Football conference at Stamford Bridge, the Euro 1988 winner advised Chelsea to take advantage of the global reach which esports is now enjoying.

According to him, over seven million players took part in last years FIFA Interactive World Cup.

“In Holland all the Eredivisie teams have an eteam player, there is a competition and it is watched by more people on TV than the Dutch second division, Gullit said.

The exposure is unbelievable.”

Gullit noted that hundreds of thousands of fans now want to get into playing esports, adding that many of these players will become part of big teams with big sponsors behind them.

“It’s not a game in itself any more, it’s a professional thing, Team Gullit says in a promotional video on its website.

Football also started all as a game – now it’s become almost life.”

On the argument that esports should not be categorised as real sport since it does not entail any significant physical activity, Gullit drew comparisons to other highly competitive sports that were once tarred with the same brush.

“We think that sports is about you doing something physical,” he said.

“Therefore some people think that esport is not a sport.

“That was the argument about darts but it has become so huge they recognise it as people playing sport.”
