BUSINESS ASSOCIATES VS FORZE STARLADDER IMBATV DOTA 2 MINOR SEASON 3 BETTING PREVIEW

StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 is set to kick off on Thursday, March 5 at Kiev Cybersport Arena, where eight teams will duke it out for the largest slice of US $300,000, 660 Dota Pro Circuit points and a ticket to the ESL One Los Angeles Major. The event will begin with Group A fixtures, where we will see the former J.Storm squad, business associates, take on newcomers forZe in a best-of-three (Bo3) match.

Following the unexpected departure from J.Storm, David “Moo” Hull, Leon “Nine” Kirlin, Braxton “Brax” Paulson, Joel Mori “MoOz” Ozambela and captain Clinton “Fear” Loomis assembled a stack named business associates that will represent the North American region at the tournament.

The last event Fear and company participated in under J.Storm’s banner was ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore back in December 2019, where they finished in 11th-12th place following three crushing defeats against Alliance, Team Secret and Virtus.pro and two stalemates against TNC Predator and Team Aster.

Since the turn of the year, the ex-J.Storm squad have participated at the Los Angeles Major North American qualifiers. They got off to a strong start by topping their group, but they fell flat against Chaos EC twice – once in the semi-finals (1-2) and later in the lower bracket finals (0-2) – and wound up in third place.

Despite the LA Major qualifier woes, business associates dusted themselves off and secured entry to the Dota2 Kyiv Minor with a perfect run through the StarLadder qualifiers, beating the likes of Zoomies and Fighting PandaS.

ForZe head to Ukraine with a fresh squad acquired from Gentlemen on January 15, marking their first entry into the Dota 2 esports scene. Representing the Russian outfit are Alexander “Gibkiy” Tkachenko, Egor “19teen” Lexutin, Evgeniy “Chu” Makarov, Ivan “VANSKOR” Skorohod and team captain Stanislav “633” Glushan.

Since assembling their first-ever Dota 2 team, forZe have produced a mixed bag of results. They won OMG.BET Cup 2 in mid-January, where they defeated jfshfh178 (2-0), Empire Hope (2-1) and Vikin.gg (3-1), but failed to go the distance at the Hainan Master Spring Invitational – CIS Qualifier, running third after losses to HellRaisers (1-2) and Cyber Legacy (1-2).

Shortly after, forZe took a swing at the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 CIS Closed Qualifier, where they put up two stalemates against Team Spirit and EXTREMUM and won against HellRaisers to set themselves up for a playoff spot. Their plans fell through, however, as forZe lost to HellRaisers in the group tiebreaker match and came away empty handed.

ForZe found their stride at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 CIS Qualifier, where they avenged their defeat against HellRaisers and edged past Cyber Legacy in the lower bracket finals to book a spot in Kyiv.

BUSINESS ASSOCIATES VS FORZE STARLADDER IMBATV DOTA 2 MINOR SEASON 3 BETTING PREDICTIONS

This fixture marks the first meeting between these two rosters, as Gentlemen never played against J.Storm and business associates have yet to clash with forZe in their short history in the Dota 2 scene.

Even so, esports bookmakers seem to agree that business associates are the favourites to claim the spoils. That seems fair, considering J.Storm were a solid team with several accolades under their belt, but the ex-Gentlemen are no pushovers.

ForZe have picked up the pace in recent times, which is enough for us to believe they can keep business associates on their toes and push the series into three maps.

Another match-fixing scandal might be afoot, as Dota 2 esports veteran Zhang “xiao8” Ning spotted some suspicious activity during a recent Dota 2 Chinese Minor qualifying match between Newbee and Avengerls.

The match in question was in the first round of the upper bracket at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 China Qualifier, where four Chinese Dota 2 teams competed for a ticket to the fourth Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Minor of the season.

Avengerls won the first round of the series and were well on their way to a clean sweep after accumulating a massive gold lead in the second round. However, the momentum then shifted the other way as Newbee roared back from a huge deficit to win the series 2-1. While comebacks and reverse-sweeps are no rarity in professional esports, it was the way Newbee managed to turn the game around that arose suspicion.

The first one to bring up his concerns about the match was TI4 champion and current EHOME coach xiao8, who is a prominent name in the Dota 2 scene due to his vast knowledge about the game. He was streaming at the time and noted in his commentary that Avengerls were playing very suspiciously.

SEE ALSO: ESPORTS BETTING IN CHINA

Xiao8’s main argument was that Avengerls did not use any Deceits or Smokes when they were ahead in order to cement their lead. Furthermore, EHOME’s coach also pointed out the team’s Morphling player for his suspicious activities, namely his refusal to use his skills to avoid ganks.

Some may say the player in question was simply underperforming on the day, but such cases are as rare as they are unacceptable at this level. Xiao8 watched the replay of the game and spotted a few more misplays from the Morphling player which, in his words, showed a clear intent to throw the contest.

Xiao8’s claims have sparked debate among the Dota 2 community, although the general consensus is that Avengerls had some very questionable moments. Even Newbee took to social media to express their confusion about their opponents’ performance in game two and three.

“We are so trash… They [Avengerls] were about to take it 2:0 and all of sudden they just ran at us and started feeding,” read Newbee’s Weibo post.

Valve Corporation is yet to release a statement on the matter, but it is expected the game developer will launch an official investigation.

Vici Gaming overcame Gambit Esports in a best-of-three final on Sunday to win the StarLadder Dota 2 Minor.

The Chinese esports giants also took home USD $125,000 and 120 Dota Pro Circuit points – enough to secure the last available place in the DreamLeague Season 11 Major.

Vici started well in the group stage, defeating Demolition Boys 2-0 by utilising Troll Warlock and Disruptor in both games.

Gambit choked off that option when the two teams played for top spot in the group, but Paparazi showed his versatility in the carry position with impressive displays as both Phantom Assassin and the weakened yet still deadly Sven.

Vici faced Old But Gold in the semi-finals and were again denied the option to draft Troll Warlock in either game.

Magnus was also banned, so Paparazi once more turned to Phantom Assassin and achieved nineteen kills with no zero deaths in a comprehensive win in game one.

In game two the star carry picked Terrorblade and collected six slotted items by the 40-minute mark while generating 836 gold per minute.

Old But Gold called GG because they realised they had no way to pin down the beast, thus teeing up a rematch with Gambit Esports in the decider.

The result was much the same as in the group stage, with Vici claiming a 3-0 whitewash on the back of their superior drafting.

The next stop on the Dota Pro Circuit is DreamLeague Season 11, which kicks off on March 14.

Vici Gaming, one of the best squads in Dota 2, is taking on Demolition Boys (previously known as Team Odd) in its first match in group stage of StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor.

Vici Gaming features all five world-class players in the China including Paparazzi, Ori, Yang, Fade, Dy. ROTK. The coach from Vici Gaming certainly improved the team’s game play based on his years of experience in Dota 2.

Paparazi and Ori are the position one and two players playing for Vici Gaming. The pair always swapped the role depending the drafting ability of enemy. Swapping the role between carry and mid-laner certainly increase their heroes pool, this is definitely one of the strategies they use to work with coach’s strategy.

Back in MDL Macau 2019, they drafted Grimstroke and Sven as their dual supports. Grimstroke is one of the best support heroes in current meta, Fear, the position four from J.Storm also spammed this hero a lot in professional matches lately.

Vici Gaming demonstrated great game play of Grimstroke together with Tinker back on February 23, 2019 against Virtus Pro. Grimstoke’s ultimate skill – Soulbind – Binds a targeted enemy to its nearest allied hero within 550 radius for 8 second when its at level 3. Any targeted ability used on either bound target also get cast on the other hero.

Together with Tinker, they can easily deal a high magic damage against enemies.

Demolition Boys, being one of the team qualified into main event from the weakest region – South America. Their chance of getting into playoffs in this event is not visible.

However, Scofield, the position four player from the squad is the only player that might help the Demolition Boys win this match-up.

Scofield is one of top 10 players in America Region as his ranked matchmaking rating is immortal in that region.

He is also one of the best support players who master a lot of heroes such as Tiny, Grimstroke, Elder Titan and other strong support heroes.

Vici Gaming vs Demolition Boys betting prediction

After running our eye over Vici Gaming’s members individual game play skill and drafting abilities, we give them a 70% chance to win this match-up with 2-0.

Considering the payout odds, our recommendation is to go low and bet on Vici Gaming to win the game 2-0.

Team OG will start their journey in the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor with a group game against Old But Gold.

iLTW, one of the best carry players in Dota 2, will continue with OG after standing in at WePlay! Dota 2 Winter Madness, The Bucharest Minor and ESL One Katowice.

The team obtained some excellent results in that run, finish second at Winter Madness and second runner-up at Katowice.

OG’s roster features four Dota 2 International winners, including TOPSON, 7ckingMad aka Ceb, Jerax and Notail.

TOPSON and Ceb’s collective knowledge of the hero pool is vast, as the former can play at least 20 different heroes as mid-laner and Ceb is familiar with upwards of 15 as off-laner.

Notail and Jerax, the dual supports from OG, are also talented players who never run out of support heroes because they often swap their position four and five with each other depending on the outcome of the draft.

iLTW has everything OG needs and the team should be able to notch another top-three finish in this tournament.

Old But Gold qualified from the CIS region and boast several world-class players, including Illidan, G and 633.

Illidan, the position one player, is renowned for his signature heroes – Morphing, Medusa and Slark – and is very good at finding space to farm and constantly pressuring the lanes.

G is one of the best players on the Dota Pro Circuit and always thinks of playing heroes other than those in vogue on the current meta.

Back in 2015 he drew plenty of attention for spamming Legion Commander as mid-laner when no other professional teams were using him in that position.

OG vs. Old But Gold betting prediction

Versatility is a precious skill in Dota 2 esports, which is why we give Team OG a 70% chance of winning this best-of-three match in straight sets.

Flying Penguins will face Royal Never Give Up (RNGU) in Dota 2 for the first time in the group stage of the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor.

The Penguins have a lot of star players, such as EternalEnvy, Ryoya, Sneyking and Liposa.

Every one of them is renowned for their great plays on the professional scene, although there might be some different opinions towards EternalEnvy because he ‘throws’ the game sometimes while trying to make big plays.

We still consider him one of the best Dota 2 players in the world due to his fast reactions in toggling Armlet of Mordiggian and using Manta Style to dodge skills.

Flying Penguins’ last appearance in a professional match was against J.Storm in the ESL One Mumbai 2019 North America Qualifier on March 2. 2019.

They showed some nous in the draft by picking Shadow Shaman at position four in both games because they understood that he is very good at disabling enemies in team fights and makes pushing easier for allies with his Mass Serpent Wards.

In game two the Penguins drafted Nature Prophet to work with Shadow Shaman and both did a decent job of babysitting their carries.

Royal Never Give Up ranks among the very best Dota 2 teams in China because Mikasa, their coach, is a sharp strategist who know the hero pool inside-out and provides detailed analysis of opposition teams.

Similar to Flying Penguins, their last professional match was against Keen Gaming in the ESL One Mumbai 2019 China Qualifier.

RNGU drafted according to the meta, picking Chen because in patch 7.21b his second skill – Divine Favor – provided attack damage up to 96 for non-hero units.

In game one they picked Chen to work with Lone Druid, who has the ability to summon Spirit Bear – the only summoned unit who can carry items.

In game two they opted for Beastmaster because he can summon Boar, whose attacks can slow down enemies.

Although RNGU lost both games, it was clear they had full knowledge of the meta.

Flying Penguins vs. Royal Never Give Up betting prediction

Royal Never Give Up are short-priced favourites, but we give Flying Penguin a 70% chance of winning at least one game in this best-of-three clash.

Online bookmaker BetOnline is paying -112.36 odds for the Penguins to get on the scoreboard.

The two teams from each group that finish with the lowest points tally will be eliminated from the tournament, while the top two teams will advance into semi-finals of the playoffs.

This match-up starts on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 – 20:00 UTC+8.

AFTER taking down Kaban in its tie-breaker, OG takes on Vega Squadron in the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor Europe Qualifier playoffs on Tuesday night in what should be an interesting Dota 2 battle.

In recent roster news, OG is sticking with ILTW from the Espada squad for the rest of this tournament. ILTW is a good carry player but has not been good enough to bring OG back to tier one, like Ana did in The International 8.

OG played five matches yesterday, resulting in 2-1 against Kaban and 2-0 against Dota2Players. In their first game against Kaban their draft of Nature Prophet and Enigma was impressive.

Both Enigma and Nature Prophet are flexible in playing position three and support roles. With early picks on these heroes, they can adjust their role according to the enemies’ draft. By the end of the drafting phase, both Enigma and Nature Prophet went for support roles and they picked Night Stalker as their position three.

READ: LATEST ESPORTS NEWS

The draft was very greedy because both Enigma and Nature Prophet need items to join the team fight. On the upside, Enigma and Nature Prophet have the skill of summoning army, so they were able to push before the 10-minute mark and expand their net worth as high as possible in the early phase of the game by tearing down every single tower outside of the enemy’s base.

Other than these two pushers, they also picked Luna as their carry. Luna is always good in pushing, thanks to her second ability, Moon Glaves, which allows her attacks to bounce up to seven times towards enemies. With this ability, Luna is able to clear the creep wave, create space for Enigma and Nature Prophet to break the tower easily.

With net worth ahead in early stage of the game, they utilized the advantage by purchasing Helm of Dominator which provides attack speed to nearby units. Nature Prophet as position five support player in that game also able to purchase Necromaniac by 17-minute mark.

Necromaniac and Helm of Dominator are very good in pushing because these items provides attack speed. OG had the victory in their hand when Topson, the position two player from the squad achieved Rampage at 24-minute mark which killed 5 enemies within a short duration.

Mage, the previous mid laner from Vega Squadron is replaced by DM. Vega Squadron is doing pretty good with DM, they are practicing a lot of strategy including swapping role between Madara, DM and Khezu.

Swapping role among the three cores always expand their heroes pool knowledge and opponent will be having hard time to counter their draft. However, there is also downside of this strategy, they might have trouble of splitting the farm or resource to the cores because their draft might be very greedy.

OG vs. Vega Squadron betting prediction

After running our eye through the drafting ability, heroes pool knowledge and recent roster changes from both squads, we give OG an 80% chance to win this match-up.

Considering the payout odds, our recommendation is to go medium and bet on OG to win the game at -454.55 or higher at BetOnline.

This match-up starts on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 – 16:00 UTC+8.

Room310 will take on Vici Gaming in an elimination match of the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor China Qualifier, with the winner staying alive to take on Team Aster.

Room310 has been lucky to make it this far, given their opponents in open qualifiers were Newbee, Team EVER and Invictus Gaming.

Newbee is certainly in the tier 2 bracket in the China region now, but have been struggling since The International 8, with no signs of returning to their old tier 1 form.

Team EVER and Invictus Gaming are only weak tier 2 teams, which means that despite making it this far, Room310 is one of the weakest teams in this closed qualifier compare to Vici Gaming, Team Aster and Royal Never Give Up.

From their game against Royal Never Give Up yesterday, we could see that Room310 drafted poorly.

Room310 drafted Night Stalker, Juggernaut and Dragon Knight as their core heroes. Night Stalker is a position three hero that is able to create space for the team, but Room310 never utilized that advantage.

Juggernaut without an early (before 20-minute mark) battlefury or Maelstrom is unable to speed up his farming speed. With all the space Night Stalker created for him, Juggernaut went for Diffusal Blade and Manta Style to join the team fight instead.

Royal Never Give Up also took note of that and tried their best to avoid the team fight against Juggernaut until Naix had his Assault Cuirass and Beastmaster purchased Crimson Guard for the team.

With those high armor items provided to the team, Royal Never Give Up started to push high ground because Juggernaut had no items to support him as the game passed the 30-minute mark.

In the game two, Room310 drafted slightly better. They picked Dazzle because Royal Never Give Up played it well in game one.

Royal Never Give Up wasted two of their bans on cores because Room310 decided to put Dazzle as a position two hero. Despite Room310’s slight advantage in drafting, Royal Never Give Up still came out on top of the game because Ah Fu, the position four player from Royal Never Give Up, played very well with Keeper of the Light, ending with thirty assists and zero death in that game.

Vici Gaming announced that they will have some minor adjustments to their roster in the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor China Qualifier.

Agressif, one of the best carry players in China Region, will be joining Vici Gaming and take over position three from Yang. Yang is going to play as the fourth position support role and Fade, the previous fourth position player, will be benched for this tournament.

Agressif is very good in playing the carry role. He can play a good offlane role as well as Yang, furthermore, Yang will have to adapt the the warding spot and the support mechanism for this patch.

Luckily for them, their opponent is, Room310 who is very weak, so Vici Gaming may have better chance to win this match-up.
