Another huge week of esports kicks off on March 11, 2024, with Counter-Strike 2 taking centre stage.

The first Counter-Strike 2 Major will take place from March 17-31, with 24 of the world’s best teams congregating in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The first international event for the 2024 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), VCT Masters Madrid, will kick off on March 14 and run through March 24.

Meanwhile, the Halo Championship Series (HCS) will host its first Major in Arlington, Texas, which will run from March 15-17.

  • PGL Major Copenhagen

The first ever CS2 Major is one of the most anticipated events in Counter-Strike history, as it will be the first of its kind on the new game.

With some big names missing from the US$1.25 million event, there is a chance that a new team could etch their name into the history books by winning a Major.

Esports betting sites have marked Team Spirit as +225 favourites to claim PGL Major Copenhagen ahead of Team Vitality (+250) and FaZe Clan (+275).

Check out our extensive PGL Major Copenhagen betting guide to get the latest odds and tournament information.

  • VCT Masters Madrid

With the regional VCT Kick-off events complete, the top two teams from each of the four regions (EMEA, North America, Asia-Pacific & China) will compete in the first international event of the season in Madrid, Spain.

VCT Masters Madrid will boast a US$500,000 prize pool and three valuable VCT Points for the winner.

Esports betting sites have marked LOUD as +250 favourites to claim the VCT Masters Madrid title, followed by Sentinels (+275) and Paper Rex (+550).

Check out our extensive VCT Masters Madrid betting guide to get the latest odds and tournament information.

  • HCS Arlington Major

The first of four Halo Championship Series (HCS) Majors will be the Arlington Major, where 16 teams will compete across the weekend in the US$250,000 event.

Teams that finish in the top six of the Arlington Major will earn automatic qualification to the London Major later in the year.

Esports betting sites have marked FaZe Clan as +150 favourites to claim the HCS Arlington Major title, followed by Spacestation Gaming (+200) and OpTic Gaming (+250).

The post FaZe Clan defeat OpTic Gaming to claim Halo World Championship appeared first on Esport Bet.

    ]]>
The 2023 Halo World Championship final has seen FaZe Clan record one of the most dominant bracket reset victories in Halo grand finals history, with the reigning world champions OpTic Gaming crumbling under pressure in the two best-of-seven series.

Both FaZe and OpTic dominated their respective groups and were set for a collision course early in the playoffs, as they met in the upper-bracket semi-final after winning their respective quarter-finals in 3-0 fashion.

The first meeting between OpTic and FaZe ended in a 3-2 victory for OpTic Gaming and sent FaZe Clan into the lower-bracket quarter-finals.

After being sent to the lower-bracket FaZe began their mission to make it into the grand final, defeating Native Gaming Red, Sentinels and Spacestation Gaming without dropping a single match and set up a mouthwatering rematch with OpTic in the grand final.

Due to OpTic running through the upper-bracket, FaZe had to beat the reigning world champions twice to claim the World Championship title, in what is known as a “bracket reset”.

Going into the final, OpTic was expected to win and went into the series as favourites, based off their win over FaZe earlier in the tournament, and after they claimed the first two games of the best-of-seven series, it appeared as though they would go on and win it all.

However, FaZe went onto dominate the next four games and claim the first series, which reset the bracket and took the grand final to second best-of-seven clash.

When the teams returned to the stage, FaZe appeared to determined to take down the reigning champions and after a 250-22 Strongholds trashing, OpTic Gamings heads began to drop.

OpTic showed some fight in the second game, as they went down narrowly in the Slayer game mode (49-50), but FaZe would continue to roll on and take the second best-of-seven series 4-0.

Jonathan “Renegade” Willette, Bradley “Frosty” Bergstrom, Mathew “Royal2” Fiorante and Paul “SnakeBite” Duarte earned their first World Championship title together, and took home the US$400,000 winners cheque.

ESB brings you free esports betting predictions for four games in the Halo World Championship 2023 group stage on Wednesday, September 13. Here are our selections for Native Gaming Red vs Quadrant, Spacestation Gaming vs Sentinels, LVT vs Natus Vincere, and OpTic Gaming vs Gamers First, with esports odds courtesy of the best Halo betting sites for gamblers in United States.

Native Gaming Red enter the 2023 Halo World Championship as dangerous outsiders; however, they still have much more to prove following a middling run through the season. Native didn’t really put themselves on the map until the HCS Fort Worth Major, where they claimed bronze, and there are still questions about how high this team can actually fly.

Quadrant finished Fort Worth Major in fifth-eighth place, which was a continuation of this team’s solid performances. While they have not won a big title this year, they’ve made the finals of every European Open Series and placed third at the Arlington Major.

Native Gaming Red are in better form ahead of Halo World Championship 2023, but they’ve not shown enough throughout the season to be considered better than Quadrant, which explains the offered Halo esports betting odds. Quadrant should win, but we wouldn’t count out a tight series.

Spacestation Gaming are one of the most consistent Halo esports teams of the 2023 HCS season. Since May, they have not placed worse than second across six events, which includes a gold medal from the HCS Global Invitational by Spacestation Gaming and finals appearances at the Arlington and Fort Worth Majors.

Sentinels were runners-up at the Global Invitational and placed fourth at the Arlington Major a month prior; however, outside of that, they have not placed higher than eighth across 11 events. Sentinels’ late resurgence can’t be ignored, but it doesn’t change the fact they’ve not accomplished much this season.

Spacestation Gaming are a class above, as shown in their 5-0 head-to-head tally since June 2022, and there’s no reason to believe this match will be even remotely close.

Natus Vincere were one of Europe’s top teams early into the season; however, they’ve not achieved anything of note in the three Majors, never finishing higher than 9th-12th. On a more positive note for NAVI, they did sweep LVT (3-0) during the HCS 2023 Fort Worth Major pools.

Since then, LVT have defeated Spacestation Gaming (3-2) and took a map off FaZe Clan (1-3). While this doesn’t prove that LVT are better than NAVI, it does show they can perform on a good day.

Considering the head-to-head record, Natus Vincere might seem like the obvious play; however, at the quoted Halo betting odds, the value is with the outsiders.

By winning the HCS Fort Worth Major, OpTic Gaming proved that their mid-season slump was nothing more than a temporary setback. Even though there are still some questions about OpTic’s consistency, this is undoubtedly one of the most stacked Halo teams in the world.

Gamers First don’t seem capable of producing a deep run in Seattle. They have won just one tournament this season C the Fort Worth Major: Open Bracket C and even though they did well in the main event, it was clear that G1 are not quite as good as the top contenders.

Despite their lack of accomplishments this season, Gamers First forced OpTic Gaming to five maps during Forth Worth Major pools and twice before, in June and February. So even though Gamers First likely won’t win the Halo World Championship, they seem to have OpTic figured out, which makes backing G1 with a two-map advantage an easy choice.

Quadrant made quite a splash at HCS Global Invitational C DreamHack at the start of the month when the French Halo esports squad exceeded everyone’s expectations. They won Pool C and looked poised for a deep in the Championship Bracket, where they found some success but couldn’t break into the top four.

Following a close 2-3 loss in the first round of the upper bracket against Native Gaming Red, Quadrant eliminated Sentinels (3-1) and Hive (3-0) before losing a close game to OpTic (2-3). Overall, Quadrant looked good, and as one of the few teams that haven’t made any roster changes, the French squad are expected to do well in Texas.

Sentinels haven’t accomplished much this year and haven’t placed higher than top eight since their fifth-sixth-place finish at Halo World Championship 2022 in October. The lack of success led to significant roster changes earlier this month and the signing of Jesse “bubu dubu” Moeller and Michael “Falcated” Garcia, who are great additions to the roster.

Bubu dubu, in particular, is the man to watch as one of the best all-around players in the Halo esports scene and arguably the man Sentinels need to break their dry streak. There are many questions about Sentinels, mainly because the roster changes came just two weeks ago, but on paper, Sentiels look very good and are one of the live underdogs to win the whole thing.

Quadrant are a proven team, which we know are good but not great. On the other side, Sentinels have the potential to be extremely good and are worth a bet at the offered Halo esports betting sites.

Native Gaming Red signed Jorge “BoamX” Campos at the start of June, who was announced as a replacement for Roman “Druk” Nasirudin at HCS 2023 Arlington Major. But there were rumours that BoamX was N8R’s main choice either way, so the ex-Cloud9 player stepping in for Drunk is a good thing.

BoamX proved his worth in Dallas, where he helped Native Gaming Red to a fourth-place finish, marking N8R’s fifth consecutive top-four tournament placement. Results like that prove one thing C Native Gaming Red are good but not quite as good as the top dogs, but the balance of power might shift following the recent roster shuffles.

Their next opponents, Native Gaming White, are a lesser version of N8R as they’ve not accomplished much since their fourth-place finish at Year 2 Kickoff Major Charlotte. And it doesn’t help that Native Gaming White lost Chris “Gilk3y” Gilkey to Complexity earlier this month.

Even at -138.89, Native Gaming Red look undervalued and are a good choice on the moneyline market.

Native Gaming Red enter HCS Global Invitational as one of the most consistent North American Halo esports teams. Even though theyve not won an event since HCS 2023 North America Open Series 1, Native Gaming Red have achieved a lot.

Since their early exit from Open Series 2, Native Gaming Red have placed fourth in Series 3-5 and reached the lower bracket semifinals of FaZe Clan Online. There, they got eliminated by Complexity (1-3), so its not shocking to see Complexity priced as favourites for this match.

Despite how the last meeting ended, Complexity are not that much better, and theyve been going back and forth with Native Gaming Red since the turn of the year. So here its not the question of which team is better but which squad will step up on the day.

But more importantly, all of their last five meetings were very close, making betting on overs a solid choice.

OPTIC GAMING vs QUADRANT HCS BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

?The latest Halo esports betting odds suggest that OpTic Gaming should trounce Quadrant, but while we can agree that OpTic are much stronger, having Quadrant priced at double digits is a bit disrespectful.

OpTic Gaming are +200 favourites on the HCS Global Invitational outright betting markets, and rightly so. They won Year 2 Kickoff Major Charlotte and NA Open Series 3 and 5; however, OpTic also crashed out of NA FaZe Clan Online at the start of May.

One poor tournament run doesnt mean much, but OpTic have often shown cracks against lesser teams, so its not too wild to believe that Quadrant can do some damage. And its not like were talking about a weak opponent – Quadrant are the current best Halo team from Europe.

At the offered odds, a smaller position on Quadrant to win isnt a wrong choice, but were happy with the price on the map handicap market.

On Monday, Natus Vincere announced the addition of Michael “Snipedrone” Juchau to their 2023 Halo roster.

“hanges in the NAVI roster before the start of the new Halo Infinite season. Details in the article,” the Ukraine-based esports outfit tweeted.

The 28-year-old English player will be taking the place of 24-year-old Robert “Kimbo” Faulk, who departed on Monday having been with the team since November 2021.

This signing will give Snipedrone a shot to participate in the 2023 Halo Championship Series (HCS) since Acend, his former team, were unable to secure a partnership with the competition, hence the announcement of their departure from the title some months ago.

Snipedrone started his Halo career in 2014 with the now-disbanded European outfit Epsilon eSports. Since then, he has moved on to play with countless other teams, which include Team Vibe, Team Infused, exceL eSports, Vexed Gaming, Str8 Rippin, and most recently Acend, who he left on January 15. He has made appearances in Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 5: Guardians, and Halo Infinite.

Snipedrone will be reuniting with his old teammate James “Jimbo” Bradbrook, with whom he played at Epsilon from 2015 to 2016, playing through Halo 2: Anniversary and Halo 5: Guardians. Both players represented the Belgian team in the 2016 Halo World Championship, finishing in fifth-eighth place.

“Beyond glad to be back playing with @Snipedrone, especially as we both are hitting 10 years since our first event,” Jimbo said on Twitter.

Liam “zMightys” Boerboom, who is also in the Natus Vincere squad, tweeted to express his delight to play alongside Snipedrone. He said he was “really happy to be teaming with Mike this season, will be learning a lot under him”.

Snipedrone has won a handful of tournaments over nine years in Halo esports. He won the 2015 Gamescom Invitational, the 2016 Halo World Championship in London, the 2022 HCS Europe Super, and the 2022 HCS Europe Regional Championship.

The veteran player has also come close to winning some other trophies but was unfortunate to be kicked out of the event in the finals. Such events include the 2016 HCS Pro League EU Summer Finals, the 2018 Halo World Championship – Europe, and the 2019 FACEIT Ignite: Halo European Open.

The Natus Vincere Halo roster now consists of Dutch player zMightys and British players Arkel “Snakey” Brown, Jimbo, and Snipedrone. They are coached by Harry “Wonderboy” Channon, who joined the team on March 3, 2022.

The Sentinels franchise has undergone a significant change to its Halo Infinite roster for the upcoming 2023 competitive season. The team has decided to build a new lineup around the veteran player, Tony “LethuL” Campbell Jr., who has been a mainstay in the team for over half a decade.

This change comes after three of LethuL’s teammates, Paul “SnakeBite” Duarte, Bradley “Frosty” Bergstrom, and Mathew “Royal2” Fiorante decided to move to FaZe Clan to join forces with Jonathan “Renegade” Willette. Sentinels has responded to this move by signing Tyler “Spartan” Ganza, Nick “KingNick” Panzella, and Kahari “Kuhlect” Miller to join LethuL on the franchise’s 2023 Halo roster.

The esports franchise unveiled the roster highlighting the new additions on its Twitter page. With the core of the roster being former FaZe players, the announcement caption was designated with a pun – Unfazed.

Spartan and KingNick have a history of playing together, having been teammates on eUnited. Last year, Spartan made the bold decision to bench himself on eUnited, ultimately leading to his move to FaZe over the former in-game leader Ryan “RyaNoob” Geddes’ attempts to replace KingNick. The two players re-united when KingNick was signed by FaZe prior to the World Championship. Now, Sentinels has chosen to keep the duo together as it heads into the 2023 season, owing to their consistent top-four finishes on both eUnited and FaZe rosters.

Kuhlect is a young and talented player who made a name for himself with a successful tenure at Esports Arena Red in February 2022, which earned him a spot on Spacestation Gaming’s roster in March. Although the team struggled to deliver consistent and promising results, the experience provided Kuhlect with the exposure and recognition needed to establish himself as a top player in Halo Infinite esports. He later joined Oxygen Esports in October and had a successful year, culminating in a top-six finish at the Halo World Championship.

The team will be coached by Kyle Chiig Lawson, eUniteds former coach, who will reunite with Spartan and KingNick after the two left eUnited prior to the World Championship last year. The coach will have an opportunity to work with the duo again and help them continue their success in the new team.

Sentinels is counting on the leadership and experience of LethuL, a two-time Halo World Champion in 2016 and 2017, to guide the new roster to success in the upcoming 2023 season. The team had an inconsistent year in 2022 with the previous roster of SnakeBite, Frosty, and Royal2.

Despite winning the Kansas City Major, there were also some low points such as a top-six finish at the Halo World Championship, which was its worst result as a team since the roster was formed almost seven years ago. Sentinels is hoping that with LethuL’s guidance, the new roster will be able to overcome these challenges and find success in the upcoming season.

The new Sentinels roster will make its debut this weekend in Spacestation Gamings Spartan Showdown tournament. The tournament which has a $25,000 prize pool, will be live on the franchises Twitch channel.

This will be a great opportunity for fans to see the new roster in action and get a sense of the team’s chemistry and skill level. Sentinels is one of the most successful franchises in the Halo esports scene, and with the addition of Spartan, KingNick, and Kuhlect, it is looking to reclaim its spot at the top of the leaderboard.
