The players released from the roster are mid laner Kim ��Lava�� Tae-hun, top laners Choi ��Sw0rd�� Sung-won and Park ��Morgan�� Ru-han, and support Yu ��Delight�� Hwan-jung. The franchise also parted ways with coach Kim ��Kite�� Yong-yeon from the BRION Challengers league team.

Fredit BRION made the announcement on November 20 via their Twitter page, informing fans of their decision to rebuild the team.

“The contracts with Fredit Brion LCK Team Choi “Sw0rd” Seong-won, Park “Morgan” Gi-tae, Kim “Lava” Tae-hoon, and Yoo “Delight” Hwan-joong have been terminated,” the translated version of the tweet read.

“We express our gratitude to the players for their passion and dedication, and we will cheer them on for the future.”

The changes were necessitated by the franchise’s disappointing 2022 LCK Summer Split outing. They ended their run with a 3-15 record, which saw the team place ninth in the standings. Their Spring Split was slightly better, as they placed sixth after a spirited 8-10 run.

The only player with a contract on the franchise’s roster is bot laner Park ��Hena�� Jeung-hwan, who joined the team in 2020. With a large chunk of the roster released, Brion will be undergoing a massive rebuild in the offseason.

However, the franchise have also announced the re-signing of head coach Choi ��Edgar�� Woo-beom and coach Lee ��Drinker�� Seung-hoo. According to the Global Contract Database, both coaches have signed a contract extension that will see them remain with the franchise until 2025.

“Head Coach ‘Edgar’ and Coach ‘Drinker’ have re-signed with BRO,” the franchise announced.

“We look forward to the journey we will draw together.”

Fredit BRION have had it tough since joining the LCK in 2021, regularly finishing in the bottom two places on the standings. A sixth-place finish in the 2022 LCK Spring is the team’s all-time high.

With the free agency period commencing on November 21, BRION will be looking to secure a complete roster ahead of the 2023 LCK season. It is unclear if they will prefer to rebuild the team around veterans, or if they will look to the future and go for young talent.

BRION have, however, resorted to making a public call for applications via social media. The call also contained details of the recruitment process, including the proposed deadline and a registration link.

?DRX kicked off the 2022 LCK season with a 0-2 defeat against Liiv SANDBOX with a performance that wasn’t very convincing, but it gave us some idea of what to expect DRX going forward. The main two things to take away from that match is that DRX are very good in the early game, but they look somewhat lost around objectives, which isn’t great, but it’s better than the other way around.

The fact that DRX can create early-game advantages proves that this is a roster of solid individual talent, while the lack of solid macro play decisions purely suggests that DRX have yet to learn how to play with each other. So DRX just need some more time, and they should be fine.

Gen.G will debut its newly formed roster on Friday when Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and co. will show off what the new Korean LoL superteam is capable of. Of course, as with any new roster, it would be fair to assume that Gen.G will have a shaky start. But this team is different in a way that its core has played with each other at one point of their careers �C most notably Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, and Son “Lehends” Si-woo at Griffin.

Betting on a team to win in straight maps early into the season is risky, but at $1.67, we have to side with Gen.G.

T1 picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday, with a swift 2-0 sweep of Kwangdong Freecs, and from the looks of it, the three-time LoL world champions should end the first round of the season 2-0. And there are a few key reasons why T1 shouldn’t be losing a single map, let alone the whole series on Friday.

Generally, it’s wise to explore options to fade firm favourites in the early stages of the season because most teams make roster changes, which usually translates to adapting period, and shaky performances early on. However, that won’t be the case with T1, who have not signed any new players, meaning the synergy shouldn’t be an issue.

And secondly, T1 are individually much more stacked than Fredit BRION, who have some solid pieces, but this is not a roster that can compete at the top level. There is a world where Fredit BRION come up with some unique strategy and make T1’s life harder, but Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and co. shouldn’t be losing games like that.

Since Fredit don’t possess enough individual quality to compete with DWG KIA, we can expect them to draft for early aggression, which could work in their favour since DWG are not particularly kill-hungry before the mid-game. We don’t expect Fredit BRION will win, but with the way UmTi has been playing of late, there is a world where they can cause some damage early and claim first blood.

?Hanwha Life Esports are a fun team to watch, largely because they like to engage in skirmishes at every opportunity. That approach has earned them eight wins so far this season, but it is not as effective when faced with stronger teams that are prepared to fight fire with fire (e.g. Gen.G last round).

Afreeca Freecs have found plenty of successful against weaker teams this split, and they haven’t looked too bad in their meetings with LCK’s top dogs either. Their biggest strength is an explosive early-game that can catch teams off-guard or at least push them into a position where they need to fight from behind, which is something not many squads can do efficiently.

This should be a close and explosive match, and while we expect HLE to come out ahead, we like a bet on kill totals better. The same bet can be placed on all three maps.

Regardless, that was arguably Afreeca Freecs’ best series of the season, and they deserve a lot of praise for what they showed.

AF enter this match as massive underdogs, which seems fair considering HLE haven’t lost to a non-elite team yet. Having said that, AF are starting to gain some traction, and if their showing against T1 is any indication, we should be in for a close and exciting series on Thursday.

?KT Rolster looked somewhat disorganised on Sunday when they suffered a 0-2 loss against Nonghin RedForce. We wouldn��t put too much weight on that result, however, because it seemed they just had an off day.

Fredit BRION have been slowly improving, but they’re not quite there yet. There are arguments to be made they should have won their most recent series against DRX, but they still struggle to close out their games due largely to poor macro play.

At the provided LoL betting odds, the only two bets worth considering are KT or Fredit at the map line. While the latter option seems safer, the reality is that there is a 50/50 chance we see either of the two outcomes. KT were far from impressive in their most recent series, but it’s difficult to bet against a team fielding Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon and Son “Ucal” Woo-hyeon.

We are not particularly impressed with HLE this split and while they are holding a 3-1 record, that hardly shows the full picture. BRION are showing some signs of quality and at the offered odds, they’re worth a shot with a map handicap.

Gen.G have a lot to prove after their loss against HLE, whereas DWG KIA are still licking their wounds after dropping the ball against Fredit BRION, which is why we expect both sides to be highly motivated to win and justify their tag as an LCK top tog.

DWG KIA enter this match off a very sloppy performance against Afreeca Freecs on Saturday. Although DWG KIA ended up winning 2-0, we expected a lot more from the reigning LoL world champions, who need to improve if they wish to do well against elite teams such as Gen.G.

Gen.G have the tools to win the game, but we are satisfied with the odds offered on +1.5 map handicap. There is also some value on Gen.G to win 2-0 at $5.40, which might appeal to some.
