Brazilian esports organisation FURIA has announced that Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato and Yuri “yuurih” Santos will renew their expiring contracts to remain with the Counter-Strike 2 squad.

Following the expiration of their massive five-year deals, which were signed in June 2019, both players have chosen to stay with the outfit that they have now been apart of for over six years.

Although there were rumours surrounding KSCERATO’s future, due to interest from Team Liquid in December, he has decided to stay with the team.

The 24-year-old is a highly respected player in the Counter-Strike world, and he has already been ranked as a world’s top 20 player (#18 2020, #15 2021, #9 2022, #19 2023) in each of the last four years.

As for his teammate, yuurih, he is in the prime of his career as another 24-year-old, and even though he doesn’t have the same accolades as KSCERATO, he is a valuable role player for FURIA.

Both KSCERATO and yuurih will sign three-year deals to remain with the team, which is ranked 19th in the world rankings, until the end of June 2027.

Meanwhile, FURIA also announced that they have officially signed Felipe “?skullz?” Medeiros from Team Liquid, with both teams finally coming to an agreement to transfer the 22-year-old.

After a disappointing season with Liquid, skullz is expected to find his best under the leadership of Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and in the comfort of an all-Brazilian roster.

The final piece of the puzzle that was confirmed alongside the news of skullz’ signing was that Sid “sidde” Macedo would take over as head coach for Nicholas “?guerri?” Nogueira, who has changed roles to become FURIA’s Head of Esports.

Skullz and sidde will make their debut for FURIA at the Esports World Cup CS2 tournament when they clash with Natus Vincere on July 17 in the opening round of the event.

FURIA Counter-Strike 2 roster

  • Yuri “?yuurih?” Santos
  • Kaike “?KSCERATO?” Cerato
  • Gabriel “?FalleN?” Toledo
  • Marcelo “?chelo?” Cespedes
  • Felipe “?skullz?” Medeiros
  • Coach: Sid “?sidde?” Macedo

Following the final tournament of the 2023/24 Counter-Strike season, organisations and their players have begun their month-long break from professional competition.

With the break officially starting after the BLAST Premier Spring Final, the window for teams to transfer players and make roster changes is now open.

On the first day of the player break, Team Liquid and G2 Esports wasted no time in announcing changes to their CS2 rosters.

Rumours had been circling around Team Liquid and their roster with the possibility of Casper cadiaN Moller leaving the European organisation, after a turbulent six months with the team since he joined from Heroic in December of last year.

Although he was named the in-game leader and was far from the worst player on the roster, it doesnt come as a surprise to hear of his benching and wish to join another team, as cadiaN and the rest of the roster struggle to gel and perform at the level expected of them during their time together.

Before their seventh-eighth-place finish at IEM Dallas, the rumours gathered more traction about the potential roster change, with cadiaNs name being thrown into the conversation more than anyone else.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that Liquid is in negotiations with FURIA to send Felipe skullz Medeiros to the Brazilian organisation, with talks being labelled as positive due to both parties wanting to reach an agreement.

If skullz is transferred to FURIA, it will leave Liquid with two spots to be filled on their Counter-Strike roster before they take their place in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups on July 29, with the in-game leader and AWP role needed to complete the roster.

Earlier in the day, G2 Esports announced that Nemanja nexa Isakovic will be removed from the starting line-up and will seek a move to a new team during the player break.

Nexa joined G2 from OG in November of last year and was able to win IEM Dallas with the team; however, with stars such as Nikola NiKo Kovac, Ilya M0NESY Osipov, and Nemanja huNter- Kovac surrounding him on this roster, nexa was always going to be the first player to be moved on, in an attempt to improve the squad.

Outside of the team’s in-game leader, Rasmus HooXi Nielsen, nexa recorded the worst rating in the last three months at 0.98 out of 2.

G2 confirmed that they will help nexa find his next team, with the rifler saying that he is open to offers in any role.

Team Liquid has completed their ambitious roster overhaul for the upcoming Counter-Strike season with the announcement of Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken’s return.

This follows the recent additions of Casper “CadiaN” Moller, Wilton “zews” Prado, and Felipe “skullz” Medeiros.

The team’s revamp aims to bring in international talent and compete for trophies in the upcoming season.

CadiaN will take on the in-game leader (IGL) role, relieving Mareks “?YEKINDAR?” Ga?inskis to focus on a more prominent ‘star’ role suited to his playstyle.

The Liquid roster now boasts a combination of Keith “?NAF?” Markovic, Twistzz and YEKINDAR, all internationally proven talents.

This marks Twistzz’ second stint with Team Liquid after a successful run from 2017 to 2021, where they dominated CS:GO in 2019 but fell short of a major victory.

Twistzz then joined FaZe Clan and achieved success, winning the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and securing a second Intel Grand Slam.

With the new Liquid lineup, expectations are high for their performance in the upcoming season.

The team’s debut with the revamped roster is set for BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024, starting on January 22nd, as they did not qualify for the BLAST Premier World Final.

The decision to rebuild the roster was strategic, aiming to strengthen the team for future competitions.

CadiaN’s addition as the IGL aims to address the team’s leadership vacuum, and his AWPing skills will fill the void left by Josh “oSee” Ohm’s benching.

Liquid’s management hopes that the inclusion of CadiaN, a successful Danish captain, along with the overall roster overhaul, will break the team’s offline title drought dating back to IEM Chicago 2019.

Twistzz’s return to Liquid has been highly anticipated since reports of a verbal agreement surfaced in October.

With the roster now complete, fans are eager to see how Team Liquid will perform in the upcoming events, especially given the team’s historical successes and the individual achievements of its players.

The upcoming PGL Major Copenhagen will be a key test for the new-look Team Liquid as they seek to establish themselves as a force in the Counter-Strike scene once again.
