ESB’s free Counter-Strike 2 betting predictions for Friday, December 15, focus on three group games from ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2023. Here are our picks for Apeks vs GamerLegion, Monte vs BESTIA, and Virtus.pro vs M80, with esports odds courtesy of BetOnline.

APEKS vs GAMERLEGION CS2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Apeks -250 at BetOnline | GL +175 at BetOnline
When: December 15, 2023 | 11:25 EST
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/ESLCS)

GamerLegion will attend ESL Challenger Atlanta with Andreas “aNdu” Maasing as a stand-in for Sebastian “volt” Malo?. While this isn’t necessarily a big blow quality-wise, the last-minute change definitely won’t benefit them.

Apeks have their full roster ready for Atlanta, where they will chase their first tournament title since Elisa Invitational Spring 2023. While Apeks haven’t won any tournaments in six months, they placed second at Elisa Masters Espoo 2023 at the start of December.

With GamerLegion winning only one of their last five matches, Counter-Strike betting sites have Apeks priced as -250 favourites. However, Apeks have produced some stinkers recently, with defeats against 3DMAX and FORZE, making it though to trust them at the offered price.

MONTE vs BESTIA CS2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: Monte -1000 at BetOnline | BESTIA +550 at BetOnline
When: December 15, 2023 | 12:50 EST
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/ESLCS)

Monte having been making some noice in recent months. They ran top four in both ESL Pro League Season 18 and Thunderpick World Championship 2023, finished second at Roobet Cup 2023, and won ESL Challenger at DreamHack Winter 2023. The only concern heading to Atlanta is that Monte haven’t played a game in three weeks.

Since BESTIA came together in February, they have mainly competed in regional tournaments. They placed second at Copa BetBoom 2023 last month and then made the semifinals of the CBCS Invitational 2023. However, BESTIA have not beaten a team ranked in the top 10 this season, and they will have to play this event with two stand-ins — Roberto “reversive” Themtham and Nicols “NikoM” Miozzi.

While the outsiders are bound to struggle, this is a best-of-one series and the round line is set at a 7.5, which is an absurd number. As weak as BESTIA might seem, they should be good for six rounds.

M80 vs VIRTUS.PRO CS2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: M80 +350 at BetOnline | VP -625 at BetOnline
When: December 15, 2023 | 14:15 EST
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/ESLCS)

M80 have recently found momentum with four straight event victories, including ESEA Cash Cup North America Autumn 2023 #6 and ESL Challenger League Season 46 North America. While those weren’t big tournaments, M80 travel to Georgia World Congress Center in impressive form with just one defeat over their last 21 games.

Virtus.pro broke into the top 10 in the Counter-Strike world rankings following a stretch of impressive tournament runs. They placed second at Dunav Party LAN in August, added a gold medal from Roobet Cup 2023 at the start of November, and have since placed second at Thunderpick World Championship 2023 and BetBoom Dacha.

While Virtus.pro’s win percentage isn’t as high as M80’s, they have won nine of their last 13 series — mainly bouts against top-20 squads. VP rarely lose against weaker opponents, so backing them to cover the round line is a solid play.

The Dreamhack HCS Global Invitational kicks off on Friday, June 2, with the first rounds of pool play. Here you can find our free picks for Native Gaming Red vs Complexity and OpTic Gaming vs Quadrant, with top odds from the best Halo esports betting sites for gamblers in United States.

NATIVE GAMING RED vs COMPLEXITY HCS BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

When: June 2, 2023 | 10:40 CDT

?

Native Gaming Red enter HCS Global Invitational as one of the most consistent North American Halo esports teams. Even though theyve not won an event since HCS 2023 North America Open Series 1, Native Gaming Red have achieved a lot.

Since their early exit from Open Series 2, Native Gaming Red have placed fourth in Series 3-5 and reached the lower bracket semifinals of FaZe Clan Online. There, they got eliminated by Complexity (1-3), so its not shocking to see Complexity priced as favourites for this match.

Despite how the last meeting ended, Complexity are not that much better, and theyve been going back and forth with Native Gaming Red since the turn of the year. So here its not the question of which team is better but which squad will step up on the day.

But more importantly, all of their last five meetings were very close, making betting on overs a solid choice.

OPTIC GAMING vs QUADRANT HCS BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: OpTic -5000 at BetOnline | Quadrant +950 at BetOnline
When: June 2, 2023 | 19:10 CDT
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/Halo)

?The latest Halo esports betting odds suggest that OpTic Gaming should trounce Quadrant, but while we can agree that OpTic are much stronger, having Quadrant priced at double digits is a bit disrespectful.

OpTic Gaming are +200 favourites on the HCS Global Invitational outright betting markets, and rightly so. They won Year 2 Kickoff Major Charlotte and NA Open Series 3 and 5; however, OpTic also crashed out of NA FaZe Clan Online at the start of May.

One poor tournament run doesnt mean much, but OpTic have often shown cracks against lesser teams, so its not too wild to believe that Quadrant can do some damage. And its not like were talking about a weak opponent – Quadrant are the current best Halo team from Europe.

At the offered odds, a smaller position on Quadrant to win isnt a wrong choice, but were happy with the price on the map handicap market.

TEAM LIQUID vs ZE PUG GODZ DREAMHACK OPEN SUMMER 2020: NORTH AMERICA BETTING PREVIEW

Team Liquid and Ze Pug Godz will clash for the first time in their history this Saturday in the opening fixture of Group A at DreamHack Open Summer 2020: North America.

Team Liquid will return to the battlefield after a month-long break which began at the start of July, straight after they finished third at the cs_summit 6 Online: North America. At the said tournament, Liquid disappointed slightly since they suffered two clean sweeps (0-2) against their regional rivals Evil Geniuses and a 1-2 loss to Gen.G in the lower bracket finals.

That, however, was only an extension of their season-long shaky performances, which can easily be attributed to the online format that has one way or another affected even some of the top teams in the scene.

SEE ALSO: BEST COUNTER-STRIKE BETTING SITES

Since the turn of the year, Liquid produced one tournament title when they won the ESL Pro League Season 11: North America in April, and have since managed only fourth at ESL One: Road to Rio – North America and BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 American Finals, second at DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: North America, and the aforementioned bronze medal from cs_summit 6 Online: North America.

In a bid to see more success in their competitive endeavours, Liquid made a rather drastic roster change on Saturday, when they parted ways with their in-game leader Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella, who was benched in favour of ex-Triumph player Michael “Grim” Wince after spending the last 5.5 years with the organisation. Even though Grim can be regarded as a solid addition, there are many reasons to be sceptical with Liquid’s decision to bench nitr0.

The first thing to note is that Grim’s 1.26 rating with Triumph is a bit misleading since his former team did not face the same quality of opponents Liquid usually do, so we can expect his rating to plummet in the coming weeks/months. Second of all, Grim has only looked decent in the online CS:GO so it’s fair to speculate he will not be as good when the competitive scene transitions back to LAN play.

The most concerning point here, however, is that with nitr0’s departure Liquid lost one of the best IGLs in the organisations history. Since Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip took over as the IGL of Liquid a few months ago, the teams results have plummeted which is a clear indication Liquid should have reconsider their IGL change instead of looking to make roster swaps.

We have spent most of this preview talking about Team Liquid, which is simply because the main question for this match is not necessarily whether Ze Pug Gods can win, but rather how much will Liquid struggle against a lower-tier opponent.

The roster of Ze Pug Gods was formed on July 19 when the North American esports organisation decided to make their five-man lineup permanent following their successful run through the DreamHack Open Summer 2020: North American Qualifier.

After their success at the DreamHack Open Summer qualifiers, Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro and his crew also picked up titles from the first and second iteration of Mythic Summer Cup, but had to settle for third in Mythic Summer Cup #3 after a 1-2 loss to Positive Vibes Only.

This squad has mostly faced lower-tier opponents lately, however, they managed to put up solid results and since they have lost only one match out of last 11 played, it’s fair to say Ze Pug Gods are in good form.

TEAM LIQUID vs ZE PUG GODZ DREAMHACK OPEN SUMMER 2020: NORTH AMERICA BETTING PREDICTIONS

Team Liquid have been inactive for over a month, which suggests they will enter the bout both ring rusty and likely a bit of out sync with their new player. Ze Pug Gods won’t have to deal with any such problems.

Liquid are the better team by far, but we don’t have high expectations for them in this clash. They might still come out ahead, but they are unlikely to have it all their own way. That makes the +1.5 handicap on Ze Pug Godz a very attractive option at the +120 quote.

DreamHack has revealed the final details for the upcoming US $250,000 Fortnite esports tournament, which will kick off on Friday, November 29 in J?nk?ping, Sweden, and conclude two days later on Sunday, December 1.

The DreamHack Winter Fortnite will be a BYOC (bring your own computer) tournament, with no qualifiers taking place prior to it. That means anyone who can make it to the DreamHack festival in J?nk?ping and is at least 13 years of age can compete in the tournament, where they will get a chance to try out their skills against some of the best Fortnite players in the world.

According to the DreamHack official website, the tournament will be divided into three stages.

SEE ALSO: ESPORTS LEAGUES & TOURNAMENTS

Stage one will be open for all competitors and will be divided into three heats: yellow, red and blue. Red and blue heats will be played on Friday, one after the other, whereas the yellow heat will take centre stage on Saturday.

Any player can sign up and compete in all three heats, where they can play up to 10 matches in each heat. However, once a player advances into the next stage they may not play in any additional heats in stage one.

Only the top 200 players from each heat will advance into stage two, based on the accumulated points throughout the matches.

The points system for all three stages will award anywhere from one to 60 points, based on players’ final placements in any given match and the number of eliminations a player achieves.

First place: 60 pts
Second place: 53 pts
Third place: 49 pts
Fourth place: 47 pts
Fifth place: 46 pts

50th place: one point

Elimination: 15 points

The point system used at DreamHack-ran tournament will feature a glaring difference compared to tournaments ran by Epic Games. Unlike in Epic Games tournaments, where players earn one additional point for each elimination, this tournament will yield players five points.

Another huge difference is the number of points awarded to players who claim Victory Royale. In Epic Games tournaments, such players walk away with 15 points, but that number has been increased to 60 for the DreamHack event.

Stage two, which will take off on Saturday, November 30, will use a similar format as stage one and it will further narrow down the competition from 600 players to 100. The final 100 remaining players will then advance into the grand finals. There they will duke it out in eight matches to decide who will be crowned the DreamHack Winter Fortnite champion.

The top points-earner of the grand finals will take home US $30,000, with US $15,000 reserved for the runner-up and US $13,750 for the bronze medallist.

Teams, groups and event format

DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 features 16 teams that will be split into 4 groups of 4.

Group A:

  • FaZe Clan
  • Cloud9
  • G2 Esports
  • Team EnVyUs

Group B:

  • mousesports
  • SK Gaming
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Valiance

Group C:

  • Fnatic
  • Natus Vincere
  • Renegades
  • TyLoo

Group D:

  • Team Liquid
  • Astralis
  • Space Soldiers
  • Gambit Esports

Each of these groups is played in a GSL format (double-elimination bracket). The best two teams from every group advance to the Playoffs Stage, which will be played in a single-elimination bracket format.

The opening and elimination group matches are Bo1. The rest of the matches are Bo3, including the ones from the Playoffs and even the Grand Final.

  • 5th C 8th place: $10.000
  • 9th C 16th place: $2.000

Betting predictions

Astralis vs. Space Soldiers

Based on recent results, Astralis is without a doubt one of the strongest teams at this event. It has won 28 out of its last 34 maps and is going into DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 at the top of its game. It turns out that Kjaerbyes replacement with Magisk was an excellent idea and the whole team has been reborn as a result.

Space Soldiers is one of the most underrated teams in the world and a competitor that could cause some serious upsets at this tournament. However, I dont think they will beat this Astralis team. Space Soldiers has had three 2nd place finishes this year: at ESEA Season 26: Global Challenge, Play2Live Cryptomasters and World Electronic Sports Games. Its recent performances have also been excellent and the team won 20 out of its last 25 maps.

Bovada puts the odds at -190 / +135 or around 1.53 C 2.35 in Astralis favor, expecting a victory for the Danes. Im going to predict the same result, but the match will likely be very disputed.

Free tip: Astralis to win, paying -188.68 with BetOnline
.

mousesports vs. Valiance

At the moment, mousesports has one of the strongest rosters in CS:GO and will likely qualify for the Playoffs of this tournament. This year, mousesports has won two championship titles (V4 Future Sports Festival Budapest 2018 and StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4) and is attempting to win a third at DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018.

On the other side, Valiance is an outsider to the world of big CS and will likely get destroyed by all of its opponents.

Bovada puts the odds at -500 / +295 or around 1.20 C 3.95 in mousesports favor. Given mousesports high chance of winning, these odds are absolutely huge on their side.

Free tip: mousesports to win, paying +300 with BetOnline

Cloud9 vs. G2 Esports

Both Cloud9 and G2 Esports are going through a period of uncertainty, after making roster changes and having to integrate the new players. Cloud9 bought FNS from compLexity Gaming as a replacement for Stewie2K, while G2 Esports replaced both their coach (SmithZz) and one of their players (shox, who is injured). Their replacements are NiaK (new coach) and mixwell. Arguably, both teams have downgraded their rosters with these changes and are now facing the consequences: instability and inconsistency. However, Cloud9 is still the stronger side, playing with the same 4-player core that won the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 just 3 months ago.

Bovada puts the odds at +105 / -145 or around 2.05 C 1.69 in favor of G2 Esports, anticipating a very close match thats slightly G2 Esports favored. However, I believe that Cloud9 has a significant advantage going into this battle.

Free tip: Cloud9 to win, paying +110 with BetOnline

SK Gaming vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas

SK Gaming is currently trying to get back to its glory days and achieve playstyle fluency with its new roster. And it will take a while for the Brazilians to do that.

After months of failure, SK Gaming decided to part ways with TACO (who is now a member of Team Liquid) and buy Stewie2K from Cloud9. A new version of SK Gaming is currently taking form but the process will last for at least a few months. Until its completion, expect to see a lot of inconsistency from Fallen and his squad. For the time being, its best to avoid betting on this team. What you might want to do on the other hand is to bet against them.

Ninjas in Pyjamas is also in full reconstruction mode and you could argue that theres still some way to go until theyre back to their peak. NiP has changed its roster and is working on a new way of playing the game. However, the addition of dennis has certainly improved things for them. And based on both teams recent results, NiP is likely to produce an upset in this match.

Bovada puts the odds at -175 / +125 or around 1.57 C 2.25 in SK Gamings favor, but the likelihood of an upset is very high.

Free tip: Ninjas in Pyjamas to win, paying +125 with BetOnline

Fnatic vs. TyLoo

Fnatic is definitely a top 3 team right now so this match will likely be a one-sided affair. This year, Fnatic got two 1st place results at World Electronic Sports Games and Intel Extreme Masters Season XII World Championship. After these successes, rumors emerged that Golden was going to be released from the team for some mysterious reason, but ultimately nothing happened and the roster stayed intact. Subsequently, Fnatic had nothing else to do over the last month except to train hard and perfect its strategies.

On the other side, TyLoo is good team from a weak region: Asia. TyLoo has just a few notable results in high-level tournaments. Its greatest achievement came at StarLadder & ImbaTV Invitational Chongquing 2018, where it won the title.

Overall, the strength and experience difference between these two teams is astronomic, so I dont really see how TyLoo could upset Fnatic in this encounter.

Bovada puts the odds at -500 / +320 or around 1.20 C 4.20 in favor of the European team, as the result of this match is very predictable.

Free tip: Fnatic to win, paying -500 with BetOnline

FaZe Clan vs. Team EnVyUs

Over the past few months, FaZe Clan achieved good results at Intel Extreme Masters Season XII World Championship (2nd place), the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 (2nd place), StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4 (4th place), and V4 Future Sports Festival Budapest 2018 (3rd C 4th place). At this point, FaZe Clan is certainly one of the best teams in CS:GO and should be regarded as a main contender at any event.
Team EnVyUs is not even close to top 8 at this point and has not had a single notable achievement this year.

Both of these teams have recently gone through roster changes and are in the process of reinventing their playstyle. FaZe Clan has temporarily replaced olofmeister with Xizt from NiP while Team EnVyUs has replaced xms and SIXER with kioShiMa and hAdji.

Bovada puts the odds at -345 / +325 or around 1.29 C 4.25 in favor of FaZe Clan, anticipating a rather easy victory for karrigans team.

Free tip: FaZe Clan to win, paying -333.33 with BetOnline

Team Liquid vs. Gambit Esports

After signing TACO from SK Gaming, Team Liquid is looking like a top contender capable of beating any opponent. The teams recent performances have been great and the entire roster seems ready for the battles ahead.

This year, Team Liquid won a tournament title at cs_summit 2 and achieved 3 other top 4 results at important CS:GO events. On the other side, Gambit Esports has been having problems for the past few months and does not look capable of defeating an adversary of Team Liquids caliber.

Bovada puts the odds at -260 / +185 or around 1.38 C 2.85 in Team Liquids favor, which is more than reasonable considering Liquids high chance of winning.

Free tip: Team Liquid to win, paying -277.78 with BetOnline

Natus Vincere vs. Renegades

After TACOs departure from SK Gaming, Natus Vincere was in danger of losing its star player s1mple and possibly even flamie. Ultimately, the rumors did not materialize and NaVi is still unchanged, still a good CIS team but one thats heavily dependent on s1mples ability to pretty much win matches on his own.

On the other side, Renegades is a decent team with an Australian core (3/5 players). But, unfortunately for them, they havent had a notable result in a quite a long tiem. And since theyre facing one of the strongest teams in the world, I dont see how they could possibly win here.

Bovada puts the odds at -245 / +180 or around 1.41 C 2.80 in favor of Natus Vincere, giving Renegades a lot of credit considering their complete lack of results this year.
