They both started in the USA. They both tout of having over 10 million members. They both teach very unconventional religious practices, moral doctrines, food regulations, etc..
I just find how strange it is that these two groups teach of a completely different god, but yet have so many quirky things in common with one another.

Which means, every holiday that we travel to those areas, I make it a point to make a new sign, and I show it off in front of drug court at some town Behind the Zion Curtain.
I have very few if any people show up. I often get the crotchety old man or old lady who lectures me about immorality or something. But something that can be seen in the videos that I make is that people honk, hug me, or scream cheers of support. And no small amount at that. It is really fun making a bunch of noise in these town of Utah where prohibition is the normality.
Whether we are talking about people shunning those who drink coffee, or tea, or who smoke cigarettes, or come from a different religion and are proud of it. All of these things are against Mormon doctrine. You can see these doctrines in the “Word of Wisdom” which is actual a section from their book of doctrines titled “The Doctrine and Covenants” . The idea that other religions get shunned because of the LDS in Utah, also appears to be doctrinal. Joseph Smith History Chapter 1
” I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
I consider this institutionalized bigotry. Which is something else that I advocate against.
So this Thankgiving, I will find myself Behind the Zion Curtain once again, and I will be looking for a good place to protest.
